Gutter Cleaning in West Chester

A cleaning visit clears the troughs and downspouts and tells you whether anything needs fixing before the next big storm.

How often should gutters be cleaned in West Chester?

Most West Chester-area homes need gutter cleaning at least twice a year: late fall after the oaks and maples finish dropping, and late spring after seed and pollen season. Houses under pines or large overhanging trees may need it more often. Even homes with gutter guards should be checked at least once a year.

What a cleaning visit includes

  • Leaves, seeds and grit removed from every run, bagged and taken away.
  • Downspouts flushed and cleared top to bottom.
  • Outlets, seams and end caps checked for leaks.
  • Hangers and pitch checked; loose spots noted.

Do you clean gutters that have guards on them?

Yes. Guarded gutters still collect fine grit, pollen and seed under or on top of the guard. We lift or brush off the guard as its design allows, clear the trough and outlets, and check that the guard is still seated correctly. Angi advises cleaning at least every two years even with guards.

Booking a cleaning

One-time or seasonal: ask when you send the form. Tell us roughly how many sides of the house have gutters, how many stories it is, and which trees hang over it, and we'll reply with the options.

Cleaning questions

Will you tell me if my gutters need repair during a cleaning?
Yes. While the gutters are empty we look at seams, outlets, hangers and pitch, and we note anything loose or leaking. You get a short written note afterward. Repairs are never done on the spot without your go-ahead; we quote them separately.
Is it safe to clean my own gutters?
On a one-story house with level ground, many homeowners do it themselves with a stable ladder and a helper. Two-story eaves, steep roofs, wet leaves and power lines near the house are where ladder accidents happen. If any of those apply, it's worth hiring it out.
